JEEP-A-DRILL

Portable drilling rigs mounted on the rear of Universal 'Jeeps' and 'Jeep' Trucks have been used with outstanding success for accurate sampling of such formations as bauxite, clays, phosphates, sands, gravels, and most other minerals. They are efficient and economical for putting down shallow wells, for cathodic protection of pipe lines, for soil testing, for foundation bearing load testing, for foundation bearing load testing and for drilling blast holes.

A list of potential customers would include - highway departments, coal mines, civil engineers, contractors and builders, pipe line companies, sand and gravel companies, geophysicists, minera1 prospectors, water well drillers, soil sampling laboratories, government and military agencies.

There are two models available that are designed for use interchangeably on the Universal 'Jeep' or 'Jeep' Truck.

Jeep-A-Drill - Model 100A - is the popular, inexpensive, light weight model that is the smallest rig available. It particularly lends itself to off the road travel in 4-WD operations.  It is hydraulically operated and drills holes from 3 to 6 inches in diameter up to depths of 75 feet.

Jeep-A-Drill - Model 100B - is identical in specifications with Model 100A except for its hand feed and drilling depths maximum of 50 feet.

Jeep-A-Drill - Model 200 - is a heavier model which will drill holes from 3 to 20 inches in diameter with drilling depths of up to 100 feet depending on the size of auger used.

To determine which model exactly meets any particular set of requirements involves exacting technical knowledge. It has therefore been felt more desirable to gather data and submit it to the factory for their recommendation rather than try to instruct our dealers, distributors, and sales organization in this complex technical field. Thus the following information must be sent in with each inquiry or order:

A - Principal Uses for which Jeep-A-Drill is to be used:

well drilling

seismic surveys

core drillng

prospecting

soil sampling

other uses - list

B - Maximum depth of holes to be drilled _____ feet.

C - Maximum nominal diameter of holes desired _____ inches. (4-1/2" diameter holes are usual for prospecting work).

D - General area in which drilling is to be done.

E - Formations to be drilled (if known).

F - Is horizontal or vertical attachment desired?

G - Model of Universal 'Jeep' or 'Jeep' Truck on which Jeep-A-Drill is to be mounted.

Standard Features on all Jeep-A -Drills:

reversible auger rotation simplified convenient control panel
variable auger speed one man operation
minimum set-up time no water required for auger drilling
rigid frames

Besides the standard equipment available with each drill, there is a series of special attachments to meet particular drilling situations. Some are enumerated below:

Hydraulic feed available on models l00A and 200

Augers... have continuous flights, giving maximum conveyance, and may be heat-treated to resist wear.

Bits... are low cost "throw-aways'' retained by wedges for easy replacement. Borium and Tungsten are added to tip surfaces for longer life.

Drill Heads... are heat-treated for heavy duty with extra hard surface spirals.

Special Sampling Tools... spoon, samplers, mud augers, Shelby-tube samplers, core barrel samplers or tools to customer specifications.

Drill Stem and Casing... available manufactured to National Drill Standards or build to customer specifications.

In all cases, this equipment will be recommended as required when the inquiry is forwarded to the factory.

SALES OF JEEP-A-DRILLS WILL NOT ONLY ADD TO THE PROFIT OF THE DEALER AND DISTRIBUTOR BUT WILL DEMONSTRATE AGAIN AND AGAIN THE VERSATILITY OF THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE 'JEEP' UTILITY LINE.
